Lyrics
\[Verse 1\] Here I am, Lord, send me out Past the fear and past the doubt You’ve unlocked the prison door Calling us to something more Not to keep this grace inside Or let Your healing love go blind You said go and make it known To every heart that feels alone \[Chorus\] So we go to every nation, every shore Proclaiming grace and mercy evermore In the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit's name We will shout Your freedom and proclaim That You are good, You are the light Leading every wanderer through the night! \[Verse 2\] Down at the water where we drown our past Rising up in freedom built to last Learning every truth You left behind Leaving all our heavy chains outside Walking hand in hand along Your way Trusting in Your promises today \[Chorus\] So we go to every nation, every shore Proclaiming grace and mercy evermore In the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit's name We will shout Your freedom and proclaim That You are good, You are the light Leading every wanderer through the night! \[Bridge\] All authority in heaven and on earth You have shown the brokenhearted what they're worth And You never leave us, never walk away You’re right here with us, strength for every day! \[Instrumental - Passionate Electric Guitar Solo & Rising Choir\] \[Verse 3\] If you’re listening and searching for a start Jesus is right here to heal your heart Lay your heavy burdens at His feet In His arms, your rescue is complete Give your life to Jesus, let Him reign He will wipe away your every stain! \[Chorus\] So we go to every nation, every shore Proclaiming grace and mercy evermore In the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit's name We will shout Your freedom and proclaim That You are good, You are the light Leading every wanderer through the night! \[Outro\] You are the light... Jesus, you're the way... To the ends of the earth! \[Big driving guitar chords and soaring vocal fade out\]
Study notes
Key Elements of the Verse • The Command ("Go and make disciples"): Believers are instructed to actively reach out beyond their local communities to invite all people—regardless of ethnicity or culture—into a life of following Jesus. • The Scope ("All nations"): The mission extends globally to every people group rather than being restricted to a single nation or group. • The Sign of Commitment ("Baptizing them"): New disciples are baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, publicly marking their faith, transformation, and inclusion in the family of God. • The Trinitarian Formula ("Father, Son, and Holy Spirit"): The verse explicitly highlights the three persons of the Christian Trinity. This verse acts as the foundational mission statement for the Christian church, paired closely with verse 20's instruction to teach obedience and the promise of Christ's continual presence.
