Lyrics
[Intro] (Ooh, yeah...) [Verse 1] I sit down with my paper and my pen Trying to figure out where to start again I make a map of where I want to go Thinking there’s so much I ought to know I try to hold the steering wheel so tight Hoping every little thing turns out right [Chorus] Oh, you can plan your path inside your heart Try to work it out right from the start But Jesus guides the steps we take Every single choice and move we make I let it go, I place it in Your hand Knowing Jesus holds the gentle plan [Verse 2] Sometimes the weather turns and winds blow cold And life doesn’t go the way that I was told My simple road takes a sudden turn That’s when I stop and start to learn I don’t have to carry all this weight When You’re the one who opens up the gate [Chorus] Oh, you can plan your path inside your heart Try to work it out right from the start But Jesus guides the steps we take Every single choice and move we make I let it go, I place it in Your hand Knowing Jesus holds the gentle plan [Bridge] So I’m leaning back into Your grace Finding sweet relief in this quiet place You take my hand and show me where to stand Far beyond what I had ever planned There’s a comfort when I hear You call Knowing You’re the One who holds it all [Verse 3] (Call to Faith and Salvation) So Lord, I turn my heart to You today I stop my running and I change my way Forgive my sins and heal me from inside Be my Savior, be my faithful guide Jesus Christ, I give You all my heart A beautiful and brand new start [Chorus] Oh, you can plan your path inside your heart Try to work it out right from the start But Jesus guides the steps we take Every single choice and move we make I let it go, I place it in Your hand Knowing Jesus holds the gentle plan [Outro] Yeah, You hold the plan Every step I take Jesus, You guide my way Safe inside Your hand
